SURMAULE is a non-governmental organization devoted to regional development, based in Talca , Capital of the Maule Area in Chile .
Our community activities focus on local development, community and citizenship strengthening. We are committed to assist communities, cities and rural areas in the region. We also support community and social leaders.

In the present, natural disaster situation, we need help to continue with the work we are already doing. Our main quarters have been destroyed by the recent 8.8 earthquake and our resources only allow us to continue our activities with many limitations.
Now, we are helping people by counselling we do at the Talca Main Square , in a city with serious damage in housing and basic services. We are also bringing help to remote areas struck by the tragedy caused by the earthquake and tsunami.

We are requesting urgent resources to bring help to the remotest and more devastated areas of the region, to give information, orientation and psycho-social support to families in high risk situation, and to open opportunities of evaluation and learning to reconstruct the community basis of our region.
